Sondy is a mixed media filmmaker and editor with a background in behind-the-scenes content and documentary films. She loves testing new tools that streamline post workflows and make digital art creation more approachable.

Her personal work discusses mixed heritage, Asian diasporic experiences, and how social expectations impact identity. She wants her work to prompt radical healing and reflection. In 2020, she was an Armed With A Camera fellow where she created Back to the Source, a film about feeling foreign in one’s home country. Most recently, Sondy was selected to be a 2023 Artist Disruptor by The Center for Cultural Power x California Arts Council. With their support, she created a mixed media film about the first Filipino migrants to arrive to the U.S. (the manong generation) using hand-drawn illustrations, archival photos, and oral history interviews from the Watsonville is in the Heart archive.
